Notification of place of residence for Resident Card

If you become a new mid- to long-term resident in Japan, you must take your Resident Card (passport if not issued yet) to the city/ward office in your area to notify them of your place of residence within 14 days of settling down in a place of residence. This notification must be made by the person in question, but it can also be made by a family member living with the person or someone requested by the person in question.
