Certificate of Eligibility for Japan VISA

Purpose of Certificate of Eligibility(COE) is to simplify, expedite, and improve the efficiency of immigration procedures for Japan VISA. COE is issued to a foreign national who intends to land in Japan after the Minister of Justice conducts a preliminary examination to determine whether or not his/her activities in Japan meet the requirements for landing in Japan. When a foreign national applies for a visa by presenting COE to a Japanese consulate, it is treated as if the Minister of Justice has completed a preliminary examination of the conditions for landing related to the status of residence, and the examination regarding the issuance of a visa will be expedited.
